Saturday 17th September Broadwater Warren
This is a Saturday with RSPB Volunteers. RSPB site, west of the A26. 180 hectares of woodland, currently undergoing a ten-year management plan to restore conifer plantation to heathland. Various tasks - possibly birch thinning and removing small conifers. Some areas are boggy and full of high tussocky grass and heather. Stout footwear is recommended.

Sunday 9th October Tudeley RSPB site We will join with the RSPB volunteers meeting at Tudeley with warden Mathew Allen. Meet in the RSPB car park off Dislingbury (otherwise known as Half Moon) Lane off A21 by Shell Garage near Pembury. Grid Ref. OS188 617435.
Sunday 16th October Chiddingstone Reserve - Kent Wildlife Trust. Leader Stephen Lemon. The site is an old brick works which is now established woodland. The task is to clear trees around a pond to improve the quality of the habitat.
On this years task we will be clearing a dense area of mainly willow on the western side of the reserve. There is also the option of pulling rush from a pond in this area. There is a photo taken in 1974 of this area (on the Chiddingstone page of the website) when it was a lot more open!
Meet at yard next to Brickyard Cottage, enter through the left hand set of metal gates off the north side of the B2027 (Grid Reference TQ51084680), one mile west of Penshurst Railway Station.
